The Fracture Energy of Pultruded Rod
J.O. Outwater · Mechanical Engineering Department The University of Vermont Burlington, Vermont 05405
摘要整理
The pronounced anisotropy of pultruded material permits the propagation of a diametral crack along its length by torsion. It is shown that the torque required to propagate this crack is independent of the crack length. Accordingly, the fracture energy of pultruded material is easily approximated by a simple torsion testing system and can provide a measure of the glass-resin interaction and bonding.
