A Preliminary Study About the Production by the Pultrusion Technique of a Fiber Reinforced Plastic (Frp) Tension Member For Use In Dielectric Composite Optical Fibre Communication Cable

摘要整理
Abstract The replacement of traditional coaxial copper cables for telecommunication networks by optical fibre cables requires the introduction of tension members to strengthen the cable. The production of these tension or strength members by pultrusion is discussed. The choice of reinforcing fibre and protecting matrix resin for the composite tension member is also treated. An optimal combination of these raw materials will lead to a pultruded strength member with outstanding properties for use in optical fibre cable.
