本文介绍了在机械工程本科课程《工程实验方法》(MEEN 300)中开设的新型实验课程,重点阐述了真空辅助树脂传递模塑(VARTM)工艺在复合材料层板制造中的应用。该低成本制造工艺实验旨在培养学生的工程能力,包括科学知识的应用、工艺设计与优化、当代工程问题认知以及工程问题求解能力,这些能力指标均符合美国工程技术认证委员会(ABET)的课程评估标准。实验分为三个阶段进行,每个阶段耗时约110分钟。通过VARTM工艺的实际操作,学生可以深入理解复合材料层板的制造原理,掌握真空辅助成型的关键工艺参数控制,同时体验低成本、高效率的先进制造方法在工程实践中的应用价值。该实验设计充分体现了理论教学与实践操作的结合,为学生提供了系统的工程实验训练平台。
